Job Summary

Help keep the Uptown Theater safe and running smoothly by patrolling and monitoring the venue premises to prevent theft, violence, and rule violations. You’ll screen guests with detecting devices (including possible metal detector use), authorize entry and exits, monitor doors and entrances, and write reports of irregularities. You may also assist with ticket scanning and guest services, support the venue’s sustainability efforts, and help close the venue after shows.

Key Responsibilities

•Circulate among guests and/or employees to preserve safety, order, and protect venue property.
•Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, and others to maintain security and prevent theft.
•Patrol premises to detect intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
•Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent prohibited articles from entering restricted areas.
•Warn persons of rule violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises; may also write daily reports and assist with sustainability/closing tasks.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

•Strong teamwork skills and ability to execute programs; must be able to constantly walk, climb stairs, and lift/carry 40+ lbs.
