Job Summary

Support daily operations at a wastewater treatment plant in Questa, New Mexico, helping monitor processes and make adjustments. Conduct laboratory QA/QC sampling (including solids analysis and spectrophotometer testing), collect influent samples at remote locations, and maintain accurate process logbooks throughout the day. Operate filter presses and monitor key systems like chemical feeds and lift stations. Perform equipment operation and maintenance, assist with repairs, and respond to callouts for special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist with water treatment plant monitoring and process adjustments.
•Perform laboratory sampling QA/QC, including solids analysis and spectrophotometer analysis.
•Collect influent water source samples at remote locations and monitor equipment.
•Collect and enter operational data into logbooks multiple times per day.
•Operate filter press and monitor critical systems such as chemical feeds and lift stations, including basic equipment operation and maintenance.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•At least one year of plant operations experience.
•Ability to obtain a 40-hour OSHA HazWOPER certificate or have a current certificate.
•Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
•Ability to operate heavy mobile, construction-type equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.
