Job Summary

Support geochemistry and hydrogeochemistry projects for the global mining industry, including permitting, baseline characterization, closure, and reclamation/remediation. Lead and participate in proposal development, conceptual and numerical modeling for fate and transport, field and laboratory program planning, and technical reporting. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, supervise and mentor junior staff, help develop client relationships, and maintain a Safety-First mindset across project execution.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide support and leadership for geochemical projects covering permitting, baseline studies, operational support, closure support, and reclamation/remediation.
•Develop proposals, schedules, and budgets for geochemical/hydrogeochemical investigations and characterization studies across groundwater, surface water, wastes, and geological materials.
•Build conceptual and numerical models to describe fate and transport of constituents, including developing, calibrating, validating, and documenting results.
•Design, plan, and oversee laboratory and field programs supporting project execution, including geochemical dataset management, validation, analysis, and interpretation.
•Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff; support client relationships; and promote a Safety-First approach while delivering high-quality reports on time and within budget.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geochemistry, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field, with strong quantitative background in aqueous geochemistry (graduate degree preferred).
•Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in geochemistry, consulting, or an adjacent field.
•Understanding of hydrology, hydrogeology, and surface water/groundwater interactions.
•Experience with data management and statistical assessment tools (e.g., Excel, EQuIS, Python, R).
•Experience with geochemical modeling software such as PHREEQC, Geochemist’s Workbench, GoldSim, MIN3P, or similar tools.
