Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide non-medical short-term solution-focused counseling to adults, children, and youth of service members.
  • •Conduct assessment, brief counseling, consultation, action planning, referral/linkage to resources, and follow-up.
  • •Provide training and health/wellness presentations and participate in health fairs and base/installation activities.
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily via smartphone or web application while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity.
  • •Collaborate with installation and military branch points of contact, regional supervisors, and community resources; respond to critical incidents and special requests.

Key Requirements

  • •Current independent licensure as a Social Worker (LICSW, LCSW-R or LICSW-CP), Mental Health Counselor (LPC or LMHC), or Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent.
  • •Master’s degree in a mental health related field or social work.
  • •Ability to become local and licensed at the independent level and be local to assignments at military installations.
  • •Willingness to accept short-notice assignments, including weekends, with assignments that may be undefined in length.
  • •Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods.
