Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide project technical support and take responsibility for transmission project design.
  • •Deliver overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects, including modelling, routing, structural analysis, and loading trees.
  • •Perform sag-tension calculations and recommend insulator/conductor blowout, swing angle, and damper systems.
  • •Support feasibility studies including conductor thermal ratings and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • •Originate and check engineering deliverables, and perform internal quality checks of drawings and calculations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering).
  • •Experience delivering transmission projects for system operators such as National Grid, SSE, and REE.
  • •Overhead line engineering experience (ideally up to 400kV).
  • •Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or working towards it) preferred.
  • •Ability to coordinate across disciplines and review technical outputs to a high standard.
