Key Responsibilities

  • •Weld and grind held material per QC and area controller instructions to convert it to prime, including filling deep routed defects and leveling surfaces.
  • •Understand required dimensions for sections and sheet piles to verify accuracy and achieve held product quality after rectification.
  • •Segregate prime/scrap after rectification, then stack and strap products according to requirements.
  • •Maintain rectification safety by preparing PPE, setting up tools/equipment (including fire extinguisher), clearing combustible materials, and following safe work instructions.
  • •Support additional operations as needed, such as gas cutting for samples, cutting scrap with crane/forklift, assisting band saw and gag press operators, and helping during breakdown work.

Key Requirements

  • •4 years working experience as grinder and welder in steel industries.
  • •Aware of grinding, welding, and rectification of heavy sections and finished goods.
  • •Ability to perform welding and grinding to rectify defects, including deep routed defects, and level surfaces to requirements.
  • •Familiarity with the rectification process and the usage of tools/equipment such as profile cutter, hydraulic jacks, and Enerpac for repairs.
  • •Knowledge of safe grinding and welding practices, including PPE and safe operation of rectification tools.
