Job Summary

Oversee the rendering process from raw material through to finished goods storage while performing general plant labor. Keep the work area clean and safe by hosing down floors, emptying trash and product barrels, clearing floor drains, and cleaning equipment. Help with equipment issues like un-stopping screw conveyors, and support daily operations in a fast-paced production environment. Work nights and/or weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform general plant labor including housekeeping, hosing down floors, mopping/sweeping, and emptying trash.
•Shovel and clean up spills, keep barrels emptied of trash and product, and keep floor drains clean with covers on drains.
•Clean equipment from top to bottom and help cut plastic and product off of screw.
•Help unstop screw conveyors and address minor equipment issues as needed.
•Oversee the rendering process from raw material bin to finished goods storage; perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: USD 22.75 - 26.75 hourly

Key Requirements

•Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment (preferred).
•Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of mechanical rendering and/or process equipment, plus equipment troubleshooting and safe operation.
•Ability to deal with minor equipment problems and varied situations.
•Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
•Ability to read and write, climb stairs and silos, and stand for the entire shift.
