Job Summary

Assist Herd Technicians with routine animal care and general farm tasks to support animal welfare and health. Feed, water, vaccinate, and perform basic husbandry and veterinary-related procedures, including piglet processing. Help move animals and maintain efficient animal flows, sanitize areas using high-pressure equipment, and support facility/equipment maintenance. Maintain accurate production records and follow animal welfare, environmental, safety, and biosecurity policies.

Key Responsibilities

•Feed, water, vaccinate, and perform general animal husbandry tasks, including basic veterinary procedures.
•Assist with moving animals and maintaining efficient animal flows.
•Sanitize and wash farm areas using high-pressure equipment and support barn, office cleanliness, and laundry duties.
•Process piglets, including injecting medications, castrating, docking tails, and ear notching.
•Treat sick animals with prescribed pharmaceuticals and maintain accurate production information and department records.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 16 hourly

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•Previous livestock handling helpful.
•Ability to perform hard physical labor.
•Ability to follow instructions and handle standardized situations.
•Must be able to work an average 48-hour work week and handle weekend/evening/holiday schedules as needed.
