Key Responsibilities

  • •Support development and certification by reviewing software design and documentation per internal standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., DO-178).
  • •Review software artifacts including Development Plans, Certification Plans, requirements, code, defects (open problem reports), and accomplishment summaries.
  • •Conduct civil aviation safety assessment (ARP4761) to derive safety requirements and required DO-178 Design Assurance Levels (DALs).
  • •Develop and review software tasks for internally developed tools/applications (e.g., support analysis, automation, engineering workflow improvements).
  • •Lead and facilitate cross-functional agile team activities (planning, retrospectives, stand-ups) and mentor less experienced engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science/Software Engineering/related fields with 5 years progressive Software Engineer experience, or a master’s (or equivalent) with 3 years experience in a related role.
  • •3+ years developing embedded software using Ada and Python and verification.
  • •3+ years agile leadership as a scrum master with SAFe Scrum Master training.
  • •1+ year performing civil aviation safety assessments, including DAL allocation and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) using CAFTA, in accordance with ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-254, DO-178C, and DO-297.
  • •1+ year reliability prediction using 217Plus to estimate MTBF and component failure rates, including field performance and neutron SEU susceptibility analyses.
