Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist Senior Engineer with ongoing and future rock mechanics engineering projects.
  • •Conduct site reconnaissance and geological mapping, focusing on rock mechanics and rock mass classification systems.
  • •Develop computer-aided geological models, profiles, and cross-sections using tools such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or Leapfrog.
  • •Perform soil/rock excavation and slope stability, rockfall analyses, and design mitigation measures based on geotechnical investigation results.
  • •Prepare geotechnical design reports, specifications, and technical proposals; support geotechnical design for tunnels and SOE systems, including rock slope support and hazard assessments.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Geological Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Rock Mechanics/Rock Engineering) plus 4 years of geotechnical design and numerical analysis experience.
  • •Proficiency in RocScience Suite, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
  • •Strong technical writing skills for preparing reports, proposals, and specifications.
  • •Knowledge of geotechnical investigations, rock mechanics, and rock slope stability.
  • •Master’s or PhD in a relevant geotechnical discipline (preferred), plus experience working toward or possessing professional registration (P.Eng.) (preferred).
