Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute hands-on visual structural condition assessments across mining and critical water infrastructure, including walkways, ladders, platforms, and structural load/degradation factors.
  • •Analyze field findings to assign severity classifications and produce inspection reports with deficiency data, annotated redlines, and photos; escalate imminent risks.
  • •Develop structural response actions, repair plans, and engineering assessments for heavy industrial and water-retaining structures, including remediation specifications.
  • •Lead structural engineering work across project phases (scoping, feasibility, detailed design, procurement, commissioning) and ensure delivery within time, budget, and compliance requirements.
  • •Collaborate with clients and internal engineering teams, mentor junior engineers/EITs, and support business development while maintaining EGBC/provincial compliance and safety practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (or equivalent).
  • •6+ years of structural engineering experience focused on asset management, structural condition assessments, and brownfield remediation.
  • •Ability and willingness to perform hands-on field inspections in challenging environments (remote underground mines to active water treatment facilities).
  • •Expert-level knowledge of Canadian structural design codes (CSA S16 for structural steel and CSA A23.3 for concrete).
  • •Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
