Job Summary

Serve as the internal subject matter expert for US retirement, health, and welfare benefit plans. You’ll administer plan operations, lead leave of absence processes, support open enrollment communications, and maintain benefits portals and HRIS data integrity. You’ll also oversee compliance and regulatory activities (audits, non-discrimination testing, ACA filings), coordinate with external auditors, and manage vendor/carrier alignment while contributing to budgeting and benchmarking efforts.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as internal subject matter expert for plan operations, ensuring accurate benefit delivery per plan contracts and provisions.
•Supervise the Leave of Absence process and act as liaison between third-party providers, internal HR partners/specialists, and employees regarding FMLA, STD, and LTD requests.
•Lead open enrollment support activities including communications review, timeline coordination, benefit portal system architecture validation, and employee election support.
•Manage compliance and regulatory oversight through annual audits and non-discrimination testing, ACA filings, Form 5500 data preparation, and wrap document updates.
•Oversee vendor and service delivery alignment and support financial tracking for benefits-related purchase orders, invoices, payments, and benchmarking/surveys.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
•6+ years of progressive corporate employee benefits administration and communications experience.
•3+ years as a dedicated subject matter expert focused on benefit plan administration and compliance (defined benefit/defined contribution, nonqualified retirement, and health/welfare plans).
•CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation is strongly preferred.
•Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law and HR regulations; demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
