Key Responsibilities

  • •Inspect equipment and discuss damage or malfunction with the equipment supervisor.
  • •Plan repair procedures and possible solutions, including part redesign or substitutions.
  • •Raise equipment using hydraulic jack, hoist, or crane to access mechanical units, then remove major components.
  • •Repair or replace parts and rebuild components; rewire and adjust systems and accessories.
  • •Set up and conduct tests of units/components under operational conditions and ensure proper fluid handling and disposal.

Key Requirements

  • •One year certificate from a college or technical school, or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • •Maintain and repair machinery and equipment under direction of the shop supervisor.
  • •Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy equipment; able to cut and weld.
  • •Can remove and replace mechanical components (e.g., engines, transmissions, drums, seals) and rebuild parts as needed.
  • •Must have basic computer skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem solve while following safety and company procedures.
