Job Summary

Work with the Silicon One Customer Engineering team to drive software adoption for Cisco’s Silicon One ASIC products. Gather customer requirements and pain points, then implement and troubleshoot software for the NPU’s control plane and data plane. Lead end-to-end feature development using modern C++ and Python, collaborate across architecture and hardware teams, and provide guidance to engineer reviews while building scalable, low-power, low-latency networking software.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner with Silicon One customers on product adoption, software development, documentation, support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
•Translate customer requirements and pain points into software improvements and customizations to enhance quality and customer experience.
•Develop and design software features for both the control plane and data plane on Cisco’s Silicon One NPU.
•Participate in customer discussions to define requirements and scope, and drive development from start to finish.
•Lead a team of engineers, providing guidance on design, implementation, and reviews while collaborating with architecture and hardware teams.

Key Requirements

•BS in EE/CS with 8+ years related experience or MS in EE/CS with 6+ years related experience.
•Experience building and integrating software using C++ and/or Python.
•Experience with networking protocols and technologies including L2/L3, MPLS, BGP, and OSPF.
•Strong debugging and analytical reasoning experience using tools such as GDB and PDB.
•Knowledge of algorithms and data structures for software development.
