Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
  • •Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Develop and make available informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, including pre/post-deployment and personal/career events.
  • •Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes, use virtual/electronic counseling modes when authorized, and manage DoD “duty to warn” situations with supervision and in-services/training as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree required (or associate degree with 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma with 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English (bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract).
  • •Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the OCI process.
  • •Hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
