Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide PM leadership for distribution, substation, and/or transmission line projects across the Xcel service territory, overseeing design, budgets, forecasts, margins, and KPIs.
  • •Monitor external events and risk contingencies, ensure satisfactory performance, and manage contractual obligations to deliver projects and meet client expectations.
  • •Support recruiting and retention by interviewing candidates, making final recommendations, and overseeing onboarding and mentoring for new PMs.
  • •Oversee employee reviews for direct reports, including summarizing recommendations and supporting internal transfer/new hire planning via PE to PM plans.
  • •Lead stakeholder engagement and project execution by guiding contract and negotiations support, QA/QC plan adherence, project kick-off meetings, and client/progress reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field within the Power & Energy market, or equivalent experience; PMP certification is considered.
  • •10+ years of relevant post-education experience in a project management role within the Power Delivery/Utility industry.
  • •Minimum 5 years of applicable experience working and/or providing full lifecycle project management.
  • •Minimum 5 years leading project teams for medium to large electrical utility clients across medium, high, and/or extra high voltage projects.
  • •Strong knowledge of project management processes and tools including contract management, earned value management, change/risk management, schedule management (CPM/Primavera P6 or equivalent), and financial management.
