Key Responsibilities

  • •Set the multi-year technical vision and architecture for the event streaming platform and drive alignment across Storage, SRE, Data Platform, and Product Engineering.
  • •Lead large, ambiguous streaming initiatives end to end, including re-architecting toward diskless, object-store-backed streaming to reduce cost and operational overhead.
  • •Go deep on Kafka and modern streaming system internals (WarpStream, AutoMQ, and similar) to unblock the broader organization.
  • •Own architectural decisions with company-wide impact across replication, consensus, storage design, multi-region topology, capacity, and cost efficiency.
  • •Debug and resolve the hardest distributed-systems production problems under Tier-0 constraints, and raise the technical bar through reviews and mentorship.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production with a track record of technical leadership across teams or an organization.
  • •Operate event streaming systems such as Kafka at scale and understand their internals (log storage engine, ISR replication, metadata consensus, consumer/producer protocol, partitioning, and rebalancing).
  • •Strong engineering in Java, Go, or a similar language with deep expertise in concurrency and distributed systems to build reliable production infrastructure.
