Job Summary

Design and build the physical backbone for next-generation AI through rack and chassis mechanical engineering. Work with a mechanical, thermal, and structural team on AMD server products—from early concept through commercialization and post-silicon characterization. Lead mechanical development across server architecture, rack-level integration, and cooling solutions, using Creo modeling, tolerance/structural analysis, and driving design tradeoffs that impact high-performance computing hardware at scale.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with a global team to define, design, and integrate mechanical systems for server/compute products.
•Lead mechanical development across server design, system architecture, rack-level integration, and cooling solutions.
•Perform mechanical modeling in Creo, including tolerance analysis and system-level mechanical design.
•Contribute to post-silicon development via test planning, characterization, data analysis, and support of customer/reference systems.
•Provide technical direction and mentorship, and act as a key decision-maker in design reviews and cross-functional discussions.

Key Requirements

•BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
•Strong mechanical design background with system integration experience at server and datacenter levels.
•Proficiency in mechanical modeling in Creo, including tolerance analysis and system-level mechanical design.
•Strong understanding of thermal management and cooling systems, with design for manufacture/assembly (DFM/DFA) and mechanical analysis.
•Experience leading engineering efforts across concept-to-production and providing technical direction/mentorship in design reviews.
