Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, test, and troubleshoot communication systems including fiber optics, microwave radios, RF networks, and SCADA components.
  • •Configure and validate MPLS-TP nodes, network devices, and routing schemes; perform field verification of carrier protection systems and RTUs.
  • •Analyze system faults and communication failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to restore reliability.
  • •Develop and maintain RTU and network configurations; support performance metric analysis and throughput/reliability improvements.
  • •Collaborate with design engineers, maintain documentation, and provide technical support and training; at higher levels, lead upgrades and mentor engineering staff.

Key Requirements

  • •Understand fiber optic systems, RF technologies, microwave radio equipment, and SCADA systems for utility communications and grid reliability.
  • •Familiarity with MPLS-TP, Ethernet networking, IP routing protocols, and SCADA communication standards such as DNP3 and Modbus.
  • •Ability to use engineering software and tools for testing and diagnostics, including troubleshooting communication failures.
  • •Engineering degree and experience appropriate to the assigned level (Engineer 1 through Senior Engineer/Specialist).
  • •Must have a valid driver’s license.
