Key Responsibilities

  • •Take prime responsibility for implementing and enforcing HSE policy, procedures and plans in collaboration with HSE Advisors.
  • •Identify potential HSE hazards with contractors and ensure risk treatment plans are implemented in coordination with the HSE Advisor.
  • •Liaise with Site Quality Coordinator and Site Engineering to oversee quality of work in your area and assist in planning construction methods and procedures.
  • •Interpret engineering drawings and prepare field sketches of revisions and additions; review designs and resolve interference problems with vendors.
  • •Monitor contractor activities and ensure conformance with plans, schedules, and safety standards, and maintain clear communication across multiple stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •S3 or S4 with at least 5 years’ experience on multi-disciplinary projects
  • •Junior B Eng or B Tech requiring practical experience prior to registration as Pr Eng/Pr Tech
  • •Desirable: SACPCMP registration
  • •At least 10 years’ experience in the construction industry on multi-disciplinary projects within mining/minerals processing
  • •Knowledge of OHS Act, Mines Health and Safety Act and SANS 10142
