Lead complex piping design work across Conceptual, Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed design stages for oil & gas projects. Work independently with minimal guidance, and when acting as Lead Engineer, direct engineering/design teams, manage discipline execution, budgets, schedules, interfaces, and audit readiness while maintaining health and safety focus.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform conceptual, FEED, or detailed design analysis and develop designs to project scope, codes/standards, and McDermott procedures within schedule and budget.
•Prepare detailed design calculations, analyses, and design reports/procedures for piping work.
•Address complex, non-standard problems independently; recommend best practices and report issues early to project management and department leadership.
•When acting as Lead Engineer, direct medium/large engineering and design teams; lead discipline execution covering scope, deliverables, schedule, manpower, interfaces, and progress/productivity.
•Support and lead piping discipline activities such as 3D-model reviews, budget/schedule inputs, audits, KPI monitoring, and assist with performance evaluation of piping team members.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
•15-20 years of experience as a Piping Engineer in oil and gas on major contractor work (Conceptual, Pre-FEED, FEED, and detail design).
•Previous experience as Lead Piping Engineer on FEED and EPC projects using multi-office project execution.
•Detailed knowledge of Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed design phases, including design techniques and application of standards, codes, and guidelines.
•Familiarity with piping sub-disciplines (design & modelling, pipe stress & support, piping material engineering, MTO), international codes (ANSI/ASME/API/BS/NFPA), and tools (SP3D/E3D/Navisworks).
