Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its underlying infrastructure, primarily in Go.
  • •Develop the platform for universal agent skills, including portable format, authoring/publishing tooling, and linting.
  • •Set the correctness bar by using evals to validate skills and tools rather than assuming behavior.
  • •Design and deliver integrations that make Elastic available inside third-party AI ecosystems with product and partner collaboration.
  • •Develop and maintain Elastic CLI enhancements and libraries/tools/integrations related to the Elastic Stack.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of software engineering experience building backend systems, services, or libraries.
  • •Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and a working understanding of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and MCP.
  • •Recent working experience with Go and ideally other languages.
  • •Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
  • •Comfort reading and contributing to codebases in languages you don’t own, with strong product thinking and usability/developer-experience focus.
