Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and own Vapi’s core metric set (ARR, NRR, churn, call volume, latency, reliability) and build the canonical data model used by every team.
  • •Make the GTM funnel measurable end to end by arbitrating conflicting definitions and driving adoption of shared logic across the lifecycle.
  • •Run the operating cadence by owning data, dashboards, and the narrative behind weekly and monthly business reviews, and instrument OKRs with reliable data.
  • •Build and scale the data platform across the modern data stack (warehouse, ingestion, transformation, orchestration, BI) with well-documented, tested dbt models and data contracts.
  • •Handle voice-API scale and AI/LLM observability by designing pipelines for telemetry, transcripts, usage metering, billing signals, model performance traces, and monitoring with freshness SLAs and alerting.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years in data, analytics, or data engineering, including building or leading a data function in a high-growth tech company.
  • •Have shipped and sustained a company-wide single source of truth by aligning conflicting definitions and maintaining stakeholder trust over time.
  • •Deep fluency in the modern data stack, including dbt, Databricks, Fivetran or PostHog, and a BI layer like Hex; strong SQL baseline.
  • •Experience building and operating pipelines handling billions of event-driven rows, including understanding failure modes.
  • •Experience with AI/ML data infrastructure (e.g., feature stores, model evaluation pipelines, or LLM observability).
