Assist Resident Engineer on transportation construction projects in the Bay Area/Sacramento Valley, supervising field staff, managing contract administration and quality control across disciplines such as roadway and rail. Serve as liaison between client, project team, and contractors, with opportunities to lead meetings and develop construction management practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying, and quality control on construction projects
•Act as primary contact between the client, project team, and contractors
•Manage the construction management team, including sub-consultants
•Attend and may lead construction meetings with client and contractors
•Ensure adherence to project schedules and identify non-conforming work

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related field or equivalent
•A minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience, including Resident Engineer or related roles
•Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials (e.g. Caltrans)
•Ability to read and interpret contract documents
•Effective oral and written communication skills
