Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as a trusted advisor on external communications and stakeholder engagement for priority sites.
  • •Lead engagement and communications for complex, fast-moving issues, coordinating escalation and responses across Communications, Legal, and site leadership.
  • •Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders beyond the site fence line, including community leaders, local government entities, NGOs, and partners.
  • •Manage local media relationships as a primary point of contact and support proactive hyper-local media engagement.
  • •Lead crisis and issues management, including issue identification, scenario planning, message development, and rapid coordination with internal partners.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field.
  • •8+ years of relevant experience as a communications professional in external affairs or public relations.
  • •Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (written and verbal).
  • •Excellent writing capabilities using AP style.
  • •Prior experience in petrochemical, manufacturing, or related industry preferred; Incident Command System (or similar) structure preferred.
