Job Summary

Dispatch private and contract drivers to pick up shipments on time while coordinating changes as needed. Communicate shipment requirements to carriers and drivers, maintain accurate updates in OTM, and plan delivery routes for scheduled deliveries. Work with sales staff to resolve transit issues, relay messages via phone/radio, and ensure orders and driver paperwork are correct. Follow safety guidelines and coordinate pickups/deliveries to meet customer appointment schedules.

Key Responsibilities

•Dispatch private and contract drivers to pick up shipments in a timely manner and execute delivery instructions based on customer appointment schedules.
•Plan effective delivery routes and assign drivers for scheduled deliveries, ensuring pickups and deliveries are made on time.
•Maintain accurate and timely updates in OTM and check orders against delivery tickets before shipment.
•Communicate shipment requirements and relay work orders/messages to drivers and carriers via phone/radio, including mobile or landline phones.
•Coordinate deliveries with company truck drivers and external trucking companies, including checking contract driver manifests and ensuring correct paperwork is attached when drivers return to the dock.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma (or equivalent) or a comparable combination of education, experience, or training in a related field.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
•Good with basic math and strong organizational and problem solving skills.
•Experience with multi-line phone systems and attention to detail.
•Strong phone and verbal communication skills with active listening (bilingual English and Spanish preferred).
