Job Summary

Assist licensed anesthesia providers by preparing, maintaining, and applying the equipment and supplies needed for anesthesia administration across routine and complex surgical cases. Support invasive and non-invasive monitoring setup, assist with difficult airway intubation using video laryngoscopy and/or fiber optic equipment, execute the malignant hyperthermia protocol, and respond to codes under supervision. Maintain anesthesia carts and supplies, including cleaning, sterilizing, stocking, and proper medication handling.

Job Function: QA, Test & Release Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Assist in preparation and application of anesthesia equipment and supplies required for administering anesthesia before, during, and after procedures.
•Set up and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems; assist with invasive and non-invasive techniques (excluding catheter insertion).
•Assist with difficult airway intubation by providing video laryngoscopy equipment and/or fiber optic intubation scope; support open-airway techniques (e.g., jaw thrust, jaw lift, tongue hold).
•Execute the Malignant Hyperthermia protocol as it pertains to preparation of the anesthesia machine.
•Maintain, clean, sterilize/disinfect, stock, order, and organize anesthesia carts and perioperative anesthesia equipment and supplies; manage medications and expiration dates.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Anesthesia Technology (preferred), or B.SC in Nursing plus one year Anesthesia Diploma, or Associates Degree/2 years Diploma in anesthesia technology.
•Anesthesia Technologist (minimum qualification) and Basic Life Support (BLS) (minimum).
•Certified Anesthesia Technician (preferred).
•Minimum practical experience as an anesthesia technologist depends on the education pathway (e.g., 2+ years preferred or 3+ years post-graduation in specified options).
•Ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards and comply with the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) Scope of Practice.
