Key Responsibilities

  • •Analyze and optimize the performance of the core ClickHouse database, covering topics such as query optimization, distributed query optimization, relational operators (e.g. aggregation and joins), caching, and low-level SIMD optimizations.
  • •Extend existing and add new performance tests based on real-world or synthetic datasets to ensure performance stability over time.
  • •Serve as a resource for the Support Engineering team to help debug advanced performance issues encountered by customers.
  • •Collaborate with other core teams to assess the impact of new features on performance and support with performance tests and guidance.
  • •Work with the open-source community to resolve issues, review and finish PRs, and respond to questions across multiple channels.
