Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards.
  • •Maintain accurate, compliant DOT logs and documentation.
  • •Safely load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles, including hands-on freight handling and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • •Move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company-provided truck while keeping equipment clean and operational.
  • •Deliver vehicles accurately and on time to support inventory flow and represent CarMax professionally with vendors and store associates.

Key Requirements

  • •Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the state.
  • •2+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (Military heavy/medium tactical vehicle experience considered) OR 2+ years of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) driving experience at CarMax.
  • •21 years of age or older with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • •Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years and ability to meet CarMax’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
  • •Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and to climb, bend, and kneel to access and secure vehicles on multi-level transport decks.
