Key Responsibilities

  • •Own Android connectivity architecture end to end, evolving BLE transport, history sync, and firmware delivery across a modular codebase.
  • •Define and refine connectivity communication protocols aligned with iOS standards and manage reliability across fragmented Android devices.
  • •Build systems to analyze connectivity health using telemetry and use insights to set team priorities.
  • •Lead engineering quality improvements via code reviews, expanded test coverage, and refined architectural practices.
  • •Participate in incident commander rotation and the release process (build variants, signing, delivery/testing via Firebase, and Play Store submission).

Key Requirements

  • •Experienced building and testing native Android apps in a professional environment, including controlling BLE devices in consumer-facing apps.
  • •Expert knowledge of Android Bluetooth (GATT, bonding, reconnection) and designing for concurrency with Kotlin coroutines and Flow.
  • •Strong Android architecture skills across lifecycle/components plus modern declarative UI with Jetpack Compose.
  • •Experience with Kotlin and Android libraries/frameworks such as Koin, Jetpack (ViewModel, Flows, Navigation), Room, and Retrofit/OkHttp.
  • •Comfort designing modular, multi-module Gradle architectures (e.g., MVI/MVVM) and writing automated Unit/UI tests.
