Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the design and evolution of Cloudflare’s global network architecture, including core infrastructure patterns and edge deployment models.
  • •Establish and maintain design standards and conduct architectural reviews to manage technical debt and drive major evolution initiatives.
  • •Own and continuously improve capacity management processes and systems, including forecasting and growth modeling.
  • •Drive hardware and network evolution by evaluating emerging platforms, vendors, and architectures and working with procurement to transition platforms.
  • •Plan multi-year network infrastructure roadmaps through research and de-risking validation projects, and mentor teams to elevate technical decision-making.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years designing, operating, or planning large-scale network infrastructure at hyperscale (or equivalent).
  • •Deep hands-on expertise with modern routing protocols including BGP, ISIS, and RSVP-TE, plus QoS and traffic engineering.
  • •Proven track record building greenfield network architectures and evolving them with business needs.
  • •Expert-level knowledge of software-defined networking/overlay networks and programmable forwarding.
  • •Experience automating complex network operations and building extensible frameworks that scale across large teams.
