Defend GEICO in lawsuits filed in Texas courts and provide first-party insurance defense support as part of Staff Counsel in Dallas. You will research laws, draft legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda, and prepare and manage pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, and examinations under oath. You will also render opinions on liability, damages, and value for the Claims Department and defend matters through trial or dispositive hearings.

•Defend assigned matters through trial or dispositive hearing, as applicable.
•Manage assigned case files with clear, professional written documentation for customers, clients, and internal teams.

Key Requirements

•7+ years of litigation experience in insurance/defense and/or personal injury.
•Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
•Admission to the Texas Bar and ability to maintain active licensure, including CLE requirements where applicable.
•Ability to travel as required to attend trials, hearings, depositions, and related meetings/conferences.
•Ability to prepare clear, concise written work and follow complex instructions while managing priorities and multitasking.
