Location: London
Workplace: Hybrid
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Data Analytics & Business Intelligence

Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and operate large-scale bioinformatics pipelines for high-throughput analysis from raw data to ML-ready datasets.
  • •Ingest and harmonize complex datasets using bioinformatics best practices to ensure version-controlled, high-quality inputs for model training.
  • •Implement rigorous versioning and mapping when harmonizing public databases (e.g., Ensembl, UniProt, Reactome, Open Targets) to prevent collisions and semantic drift.
  • •Partner with ML Research, Computational Biology, Drug Development, and Chemistry teams to drive adoption of the internal bioinformatics platform and standardized data primitives in daily workflows.
  • •Act as a “Deployed Engineer” in research projects, delivering customized solutions and feeding identified technical gaps back into the core platform, with documentation and training for the wider organization.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience processing raw bioinformatics data at scale (e.g., FASTQ, BAM, mzXML).
  • •Track record delivering high-quality bioinformatics outputs across modalities such as genomics, proteomics, single cell, or systems biology.
  • •Experience writing production-grade code in Python and developing automated, scalable bioinformatics pipelines.
  • •Ability to deliver bioinformatics solutions to research teams and communities with a focus on user enablement.
  • •PhD or MSc in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience in a biopharmaceutical/research environment).
