Key Responsibilities

  • •Support plans and specifications for new designs and derivatives of Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicles (XL-AUVs).
  • •Create detailed mechanical designs, prototypes, and build of complex structures and mechanisms.
  • •Perform simulation and analysis of mechanical designs, including modal/spectral response analysis.
  • •Ensure designs meet internal and external maritime standards and inspect parts/sub-systems/vehicles to verify specifications and regulations.
  • •Support development and delivery of structural hardware across the lifecycle, including full lifecycle testing, monitoring/operation, and DVT of parts/sub-systems.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Naval Architecture (or relevant field) or equivalent experience.
  • •Professional experience working as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role.
  • •Ability to work holistically across complex mechanical systems and structures from design through sustainment.
  • •Ability to learn and grow within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • •Capacity to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
