Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as a technical lead for the Data Engineering team, owning architecture and design decisions for core data systems.
  • •Partner with stakeholders to clarify requirements, validate outputs, and communicate risks, tradeoffs, and timelines.
  • •Own and operate a self-hosted orchestration platform via a self-managed Prefect deployment, including upgrades, workers, and cost/footprint tradeoffs.
  • •Own the Snowflake environment, serving as a subject-matter expert for data modeling, performance, cost optimization, and RBAC/permissions design.
  • •Build, operate, and monitor core data stack components including pipelines, ingestion services, integrations, and warehouse for accurate, trusted, observable outcomes.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep expertise in Snowflake, including advanced data modeling, performance tuning, cost management, and security/RBAC design.
  • •Experience as a tech lead or staff-level engineer setting direction, driving architecture, and delivering complex systems across a team.
  • •Strong Python and SQL fundamentals, with solid ELT patterns and data modeling experience.
  • •Hands-on experience operating self-hosted orchestration (Prefect strongly preferred; able to run Airflow/Dagster on your own infrastructure, including upgrades and workers).
  • •Hands-on AWS and infrastructure-as-code experience building cloud infrastructure with Terraform (or equivalent), plus experience building backend/API and event-driven services.
