Job Summary

Operate an asphalt paver (rubber or track type) to spread and level asphaltic concrete on roadways, parking lots, streets, and similar surfaces. Control the machine using hand/foot levers, perform routine oil/grease and operating adjustments, and add/remove screed extensions or accessories as needed. Partner with crew members, support backing dump trucks to the hopper, and follow PPE, attendance, and safety requirements while handling extended shifts and possible out-of-town work.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate an asphalt paver to spread and level asphaltic concrete on subgrade highway and related surfaces.
•Control the paving machine using hand or foot levers and perform normal operating adjustments.
•Oil/grease and service the equipment, and install or remove screed extensions and associated accessories.
•Perform related duties such as guiding and directing dump trucks while backing to the machine hopper.
•Partner with other crewmembers to pave roadways and assist other positions to complete job tasks.

Key Requirements

•Partner with crew members and follow plan specifications instructed by the crew foreman to meet daily schedules/estimates.
•Be physically able to operate equipment in temperature extremes and for extended 8–12 hour shifts.
•Use tools as needed to complete jobs within specifications (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, electric drills, drift pins, pneumatic tools).
•Follow attendance and PPE policies, maintaining courteous/professional conduct with coworkers, customers, and the public.
•Be flexible with last-minute schedule/location/shift changes, including overtime and occasional out-of-town work.
