Job Summary

Operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport live poultry from growers to the processing facility safely and securely. Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies, including completing and documenting pre-trip inspections, ensuring secure loads, maintaining required trip and equipment documentation, and cleaning the truck. Perform loading/unloading assistance as needed and report any maintenance issues to a supervisor while working outdoors and during nights/weekends/holidays.

Key Responsibilities

•Exercise safe driving practices to protect the public and ensure secure transport of live poultry.
•Comply with DOT safety rules and regulations, company policies, and local/state/federal laws.
•Perform and document pre-trip inspections including tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes, and hoses.
•Assist with loading and unloading trailers as necessary and ensure secure loads before movement.
•Maintain required documentation (equipment, time, trips, weight) and clean/wash the truck as needed; report maintenance issues to a supervisor.

Key Requirements

•Valid Class A CDL with a 3-year verifiable satisfactory driving record.
•Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), state, and federal laws.
•Minimum 21 years of age.
•Ability to read and write legibly.
•Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
