Key Responsibilities

  • •Contribute to TBI’s AI governance policy agenda by identifying emerging questions and developing distinctive policy positions translated into actionable recommendations for governments.
  • •Lead substantial policy projects on priority AI governance issues, focusing on AI assurance ecosystems, frontier open-source AI policy, and international AI governance coordination.
  • •Produce outstanding written policy work, including major reports, policy papers, briefings, comment pieces, and materials for senior political audiences.
  • •Develop practical policy proposals that account for technological developments, institutional/regulatory constraints, political economy, and implementer needs.
  • •Represent TBI externally and build/manage relationships with stakeholders across the AI governance ecosystem, communicating TBI’s positions clearly in senior discussions and meetings.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong knowledge of AI governance and policy, including debates around governance of advanced AI systems and the institutions involved.
  • •Strong technical fluency in AI, including how modern AI systems are developed, trained, evaluated, and deployed, and how capabilities shape risks and policy options.
  • •Relevant professional experience in AI or technology policy gained in government, a policy organisation, academia, industry, consulting, or an international organisation.
  • •Exceptional written communication skills, distilling complex ideas into clear, intuitive, persuasive policy analysis for expert and non-expert audiences.
  • •Strong policy judgement and research/analytical skills to rapidly understand complex topics and synthesize evidence into feasible policy interventions.
