Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead end-to-end planning and execution of HSBC UK internal and external stress testing activity, ensuring timely, complete, and well-evidenced submissions through governance.
  • •Prepare gross and net capital plans and coordinate with the RRP office to select management actions with clear rationale.
  • •Support production and maintenance of HSBC UK’s ICAAP, with focus on calculation and governance of the Internal Capital Planning Buffer.
  • •Produce decision-useful stress testing and capital insights, including governance papers/packs and presentations to senior forums.
  • •Own risk ownership of STDF actuals and annual returns submission to the PRA, managing queries, Dear CFO letters, and Harmony escalations.

Key Requirements

  • •Demonstrable experience leading or coordinating internal and external stress test submissions in a Treasury environment, including capital management, liquidity, recovery planning, governance and regulatory expectations.
  • •Strong knowledge of ICAAP and the Internal Capital Planning Buffer calculation and governance.
  • •Ability to translate stress testing and capital outputs into clear, decision-useful insights, incorporating regulatory change to identify vulnerabilities and risk concentrations.
  • •Confident commercial mindset for business partnering: review and challenge outputs and communicate technical topics into simple business implications, actions and decisions.
  • •Strong planning, tracking and reporting capability (e.g., run books, RAID, milestones) with understanding of risk management and control frameworks.
