Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and maintain chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) processes to meet physical and electrical requirements for Micron products.
  • •Optimize CMP processes to reduce cost, process variability, and improve process capability.
  • •Coordinate process, equipment, and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process steps.
  • •Perform root cause and failure mode analysis to understand limitations and drive CMP development projects with OEMs and consumable vendors.
  • •Maintain a CMP technology development pilot manufacturing line and support process transfer to production facilities (some international travel may be required).

Key Requirements

  • •M.S./Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • •5+ years of semiconductor process engineering experience in CMP-related processes, preferably in 300mm wafer fabs.
  • •Experience developing dielectrics/metals CMP processes, including fundamental understanding of slurry/pad interactions.
  • •Experience in FEOL/BEOL CMP process development and understanding of CMP-related electrical/probe failure.
  • •Knowledge of semiconductor processing and solid-state device physics (desirable).
