Key Responsibilities

  • •Contribute to the open-source xet-core project that powers hf-xet and the Hugging Face Hub ecosystem.
  • •Design, build, and operate meaningful backend features in the Xet Storage storage system.
  • •Develop low-level, high-performance code for scalable storage services supporting Hugging Face’s platform.
  • •Work across two closely connected surfaces (xet-core and Xet Storage backend) in an async, remote environment.
  • •Collaborate with the broader Infrastructure organization while building and operating at enormous scale.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years building and scaling distributed systems, storage, or networking infrastructure.

  • •Ability to work independently in a high-trust, low-process environment, comfortable with ambiguity and taking ownership end to end.
