Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise clients on cost strategies and manage vendor prequalification, bid assessment and bid levelling, including chairing bid interviews.
  • •Develop and review project estimates and present recommendations, including value engineering and risk assessments to the client.
  • •Establish cost reporting schedules; review and present cost reports and forecasts; maintain a commercial risk register and run periodic meetings with project team and vendors.
  • •Manage cost control by reviewing payment application assessments, recommending contractor entitlements, handling change orders, and supporting contractual dispute prevention/resolution.
  • •Oversee invoicing, final accounting, post-contract audits and close outs, and lead post-contract reviews to create lesson-learned documents and training materials.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
  • •3–5 years of relevant experience in cost management within the construction industry.
  • •RICS accreditation or working towards it is valuable.
  • •Experience supporting cost management on medium or large construction projects.
  • •Strong knowledge of construction procurement routes, value management, and value engineering, plus strong communication skills.
