Job Summary

Design and deliver bridge projects from feasibility through detailed design to construction, including strengthening and repair assessments. Prepare new bridge and strengthening designs to UK standards, ensuring compliance with design, health and safety, QA, document control, and CDM requirements. Perform bridge design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) with support from senior engineers, and build calculation sheets, drawings, and specifications using WSP processes and technical tools.

Key Responsibilities

•Carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair.
•Prepare new bridge design and strengthening design to UK standards with appropriate health and safety compliance and WSP WoW procedures.
•Conduct design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.
•Prepare or assist in compiling drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within deadlines and check compliance with the project brief.
•Follow QA, document control, archiving, and CDM guidelines, including implementation of issue/filing/archiving processes and ensuring correct standards usage (including use of WSP calculation templates and technical library).
