Create and support turnkey HVAC contracting projects by developing detailed scopes and cost estimates for competitive bids. Gather project data, analyze plans/specs, produce system sketches and pricing, and perform take-offs for purchased equipment. Review bid documents and subcontractor proposals for constructability and risks, participate in pre-bid meetings, identify cost-savings opportunities, and provide technical support during strategic job acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities to support bids and pricing.
•Develop detailed scope and compile cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposals, and vendor/subcontractor quotes.
•Collect project data, use plans/specifications and construction knowledge to analyze project needs, and perform take-off and pricing for purchased equipment.
•Review bid documents, existing conditions, and subcontractor proposals for conflicts and constructability issues; identify cost-saving opportunities and risk items.
•Hold pre-bid meetings with Account Managers and provide technical support for strategic job acquisition, including coordination with outsourced engineering/Operations/Fulfillment.

Key Requirements

•Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
•Project Management and HVACR industry-related work experience required.
•Experience with construction estimating, project bidding, and/or procurement.
•Working knowledge of construction systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and HVAC systems, electrical systems, and temperature controls.
•Ability to communicate with and direct subcontractors, plus flexibility to work outside normal hours/weekends (including some overnight travel) and a valid driver’s license.
