Key Responsibilities

•Build the detection engineering function from the ground up, including telemetry pipelines, detection content, alert routing, and response runbooks.
•Own detection-as-code end to end across cloud and endpoint sources with tests, version control, and CI to prevent silent rule failures.
•Lead incident response for high-severity events, driving containment and root cause and improving detections to stop repeat attack classes.
•Automate triage and enrichment in Python (or similar) so alert volume scales without proportional headcount.
•Partner with leadership and work across corp IT and infrastructure teams to translate security gaps into a prioritized roadmap and ship needed telemetry/logging/access changes.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 269,000 - 330,000 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response, including time at a high-growth tech company, cloud-native infrastructure provider, or top-tier MDR/threat intel firm.
•Built or scaled a detection engineering function (program/pipeline/coverage), not just operated inside one.
•Hands-on experience writing detections using cloud telemetry (AWS/GCP/Azure control plane and audit logs) and endpoint telemetry (EDR event streams, OS-level signals).
•Strong scripting and automation skills in Python (or similar) to build and maintain detection-as-code pipelines.
•Incident response experience at significant scale, including leading response under pressure and driving changes through postmortems.
