Job Summary

Drive benchtop synthesis and formulation of next-generation adhesives and coatings for the Label and Graphic Materials business. You’ll translate commercial product needs into laboratory polymer development, then lead the technical transition from pilot to full production scale-up. Partner with internal R&D teams and Product Line Teams, design DoE-driven experiments, interpret analytical data, and support downstream coating operations and troubleshooting during launch, with travel up to 20%.

Key Responsibilities

•Synthesize, formulate, and iterate new adhesives and coatings on the laboratory benchtop using fundamental adhesion principles.
•Lead the technical transition of new formulations from benchtop concepts through pilot and full production runs.
•Design robust experimental plans (DoE), manage laboratory testing, interpret analytical data, and produce technical reports and presentations.
•Collaborate with R&D teams (including Advanced Materials Science) and translate emerging technologies into commercial LGM products.
•Serve as primary technical resource for coating plants, supporting concept development, production trials, troubleshooting, and safety excellence.

Key Requirements

•BS/MS in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field, with at least 3 years experience in polymer design, synthesis, formulating, and scale-up.
•2+ years in commercial product development, particularly in the acrylic pressure sensitive industry (high speed coating and drying is a plus).
•2+ years applying pressure sensitive adhesives in the label industry is highly desired.
•Demonstrated knowledge and application of statistical design of experiments (DoE).
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong time management and ability to balance multiple projects.
