Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Size, mark, alter, and repair clothing; re-sew and replace defective garment parts.
  • •Operate industrial washing machines to wash linens, garments, towels, and other articles; control valves/switches/levers and water amount/temperature.
  • •Operate industrial drying machines; control time and temperature based on cloth material.
  • •Load/unload washers and dryers; fold and sort clean clothing and linens, then ensure distribution per the laundry exchange schedule.
  • •Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area with daily inspections, report mechanical failures/unsafe conditions or accidents, and perform other assigned duties.

Key Requirements

  • •Must be fully vaccinated against COVID prior to start date.
  • •Must be able to operate industrial laundry washing machines, dryers, and sewing machines.
  • •Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to pass extensive background investigation and drug testing.
  • •Must be able to follow Standard Codes of Conduct pertaining to interaction with staff and detainees.
  • •Ability to communicate clearly (oral and written) and to interpret standards and policies; computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
