Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and execute growth strategies for Akima’s Federal ground-based logistics portfolio with priority alignment to targeted customers.
  • •Build, qualify, and maintain a pipeline of strategic opportunities (generally $250M+) aligned to growth priorities and financial objectives.
  • •Lead priority capture efforts for multiple concurrent pursuits from qualification through award, including win strategy, solution development, teaming, staffing, pricing, and proposal readiness.
  • •Conduct customer and stakeholder engagement to identify requirements, evaluate drivers, and translate them into differentiated, executable solutions with clear win themes.
  • •Manage capture activities, schedules, resources, and capture/proposal budgets (B&P), including qualification recommendations, capture/bid/no-bid briefings, and collaboration across operations, technical, pricing, contracts, legal, recruiting, and proposal teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Ten or more years of progressive Federal business development and capture experience, including significant DoD customer support.
  • •Demonstrated success winning large, complex Federal opportunities (including $100M+ contracts) with at least three relevant contract wins in the last three years in a lead BD/capture role.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, engineering, operations, or related field (or equivalent directly applicable experience).
  • •Strong understanding of Federal logistics services such as materiel maintenance, supply chain management, warehousing and distribution, transportation, life support/food services, and contingency logistics.
  • •Deep knowledge of the Federal acquisition process, contract vehicles (e.g., LOGCAP, OASIS+), and federal/DoD logistics systems, including CMMS concepts (e.g., WebFLIS, DAAS, FED LOG, MAXIMO).
