Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive automation and scalability for optical transceiver manufacturing by designing processes and automation for critical equipment.
  • •Own process and automation strategies for active alignment and fiber attach methods.
  • •Set design-for-manufacturing and design-for-cost initiatives, including manufacturing cost modeling.
  • •Support NPI-to-production transfer to ensure sustainable, repeatable operations for volume and next-generation optical products.
  • •Identify and deploy equipment for advanced optics manufacturing (CPO/NPO) in collaboration with partners and suppliers.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant process engineering experience in optics, opto-electronics, or semiconductor packaging, including equipment design and hands-on NPI-to-production transfer.
  • •BS/MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Optics/Photonics, Materials, Physics, or a related field.
  • •Experience defining, evaluating, and qualifying capital equipment with suppliers and/or contract manufacturers.
  • •Strong technical communication and problem-solving, including design-for-manufacturing, design-for-cost, and manufacturing cost modeling.
  • •Experience with fiber attach and optical alignment systems, including automated optical assembly development and qualification (DOE, SPC, PFMEA, capability studies).
