Job Summary

Design, develop, and lead the deployment of scalable data engineering pipelines that use strong software engineering practices. Collaborate across Digital Technologies with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to deliver data-driven solutions for chemical manufacturing use cases like predictive maintenance, reliability, downtime prevention, industrial automation, and forecasting. Help define technical platforms and frameworks, ensure architecture/security/testing standards, and mentor other data engineers to support digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the design, development, and deployment of data engineering pipelines and solutions using strong software engineering practices.
•Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and business SMEs to deliver critical data pipelines and workflows for data-driven outcomes.
•Ensure proper architecture, security, exception handling, testing, and adherence to code development standards across Digital Technologies.
•Develop and maintain data workflows and pipelines for ML and algorithm deployment and chemical manufacturing use cases (predictive maintenance, reliability, downtime prevention, industrial automation, forecasting, health and safety).
•Design and develop technical platforms, frameworks, and applications that provide data, business intelligence, and information, and support training for other engineers.

Key Requirements

•BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field (MS strongly preferred; PhD preferred).
•Senior Data Engineer: 4+ years hands-on software development with a PhD, or 6+ years with an MS, or 8+ years with a BS.
•Principal Data Engineer: 7+ years hands-on software development with a PhD, or 9+ years with an MS, or 11+ years with a BS.
•Strong Python, JavaScript, and/or Java skills; strong experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and/or PostgreSQL.
•Experience building software engineering oriented data engineering systems (stream processing, dbt, ETL, messaging) plus Linux/Unix, Git, and testing frameworks.
